Optimize Your Hair Removal by Choosing Electrolysis

Posted by admin  Published in Hair Removal

Unwanted body and facial hair is something that we have to deal with, like it or not. Unfortunately, there is a high cost and a huge effort involved in having it removed. Having said that, there are many reasons to choose electrolysis for hair removal over any other method.

For one thing, other methods can be extremely expensive. Furthermore, they don’t have any real guarantees that they are safe. Each year, newer technology is being developed. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been thoroughly tested to ensure complete safety.

Electrolysis on the other hand has been around for decades. It has proven itself to be safe and effective. As well, it has withstood the test of time because of its great benefits. It is in fact one of the best ways to go about removing unwanted facial hair, especially when detail is required.

For example, permanently removing or shaping eyebrows can only be done properly with this method. It is the only means that provides detail needs in such cases.

There are three types of electrolysis that can be used. There is the galvanic, the thermolysis and the blend. The first uses a DC current, the second an AC current and the third uses both. Each of these uses the current that passes through a fine needle right at the follicle to destroy it.

The needle or metal probe is not felt so there is no pain in that regard. There is however the current that can feel more sensitive for some but not in others. In essence, the “pain” is much like what is felt when tweezing. It does depend and vary from one individual to another. However, there are factors that affect the level of sensitivity, such as the curvature of the follicle, the area of treatment, and the hormonal balance, to name but a few.

Permanent Hair Removal Methods And Techniques

Posted by admin  Published in Hair Removal

There is only one truly method of hair removal that is truly permanent. Permanent hair removal is, for the most part, actually a sharp reduction in the number of hairs present. However, it can be very effective reduction, and most people lump all of these methods together under one label.

One of the most popular treatments is laser. Laser treatments are quite effective, though only licensed by the FDA in the US to call themselves permanent reduction. This reduction is very significant in most cases, however, and may mean as much as 90% of the hairs treated do not grow back. Multiple treatments are necessary, because hair grows in cycles and every follicle must be treated. All areas of the body are candidates for laser.

The truly permanent hair removal method is electrolysis. This is a method of follicle destruction that uses chemicals or heat applied directly to the follicle. Any part of the body can receive electrolysis, but each individual follicle must be treated, which results in extremely long periods of time being necessary to treat even small areas.

The main downsides to either method are the cost of the treatment sessions, and the time necessary to complete them. Electrolysis takes so long that laser treatments were invented to replace it, and while not quite as effective, still offer decent results in much less time. However, even laser treatments must be repeated at least a few times.

Pain can be associated with either method of treatment, though discomfort is more likely. Laser treatments often result in a sunburn-like rash for a few days, while electrolysis can leave the area a bit sore. Many people find the discomfort worth it for the results, though.

If the expense and discomfort of these procedures are not enough to turn people away, either of these methods can be employed to greatly reduce unwanted hairs. Given the social expectations, this often has important self-esteem benefits, and many people enjoy the results.
